Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp fringes the Udzungwa Mountains National Park, in the Kilombero valley in southern Tanzania.The holdup is referred to locally as Hondo signifying "hornbill" in Swahili, because of the astonishing number of these surprising winged animals which make the zone their home. The woodland is home to various primate species, including the endemic Udzungwa Red Colobus, the momentous Sanje Crested Mangebey, and the Black and White Colobus. Various diverse hornbill species fly in over the timberland edge and settle in trees along the outskirts of the rainforest in enormous numbers each night at nightfall, and the valley echoes with their unmistakable calls.
